English, it is everywhere. Some 380m people speak it as their first language and perhaps as many again as their second language. A billion people are learning it, about a third of the world’s population are in some sense exposed to it, and by 2050, it is predicted, half of the world will be more or less proficient in it. It is the language of computers and the Internet. It is the language of globalization – of international business, politics, diplomacy, and official documents. You’ll hear it in pop songs in Tokyo, Deutsche Welle broadcasts in it, French business schools teach in it, and it is the medium of expression in cabinet meetings in Bolivia…
Purpose of the weekend:
- To give you, the executive, an opportunity to “getaway” from reality. To step into another world, where your only responsibility is to learn and grow, and have fun…
- To improve your English vocabulary, give you real practice speaking real English, increase your cultural knowledge/awareness, and review and/or learn new business concepts…
- To allow yourself the space and time to fully immerse yourself into an English environment where the mistakes you make won’t cost you money or relationships…
Method of delivery: We will use mini-lecturettes, games, music, fun competition, role-plays, and other fun learning activities. Participation in all learning venues are on a voluntary basis. Our goal is to create an environment where learning is focused, intense, and yet pleasurable.
Topics used in delivering English lessons: Business related topics and concepts will be used as vehicles to facilitate learning.
